Creator handbook
How to make a video we accept, from the first email to your payment. The terms have the full rules.
What we pay
| Kind of video | Fee | For example |
|---|---|---|
| Test demo30 seconds | $200 | Simple and choice reaction time |
| Explainer60 seconds | $300 | The Stroop test in 60 seconds |
| Walkthrough or your own research60 seconds | $500 | Set up an online study, start to finish |
Each video idea shows its fee, and we confirm the fee by email before you start.
The format
- Record your screen while the test runs, and talk over it. You can show your face, but you do not have to.
- Film it vertical, 9 by 16, unless we ask for another format.
- Start on the test itself, not on an introduction. Most people decide in the first two seconds whether to keep watching.
- Add captions. Many people watch with the sound off.
- End by saying where viewers can try the test: conductcognition.com.
From pitch to payment
- Apply. After we read your application, we email you to set up a short video call.
- Pick an idea, or bring your own, and email it to us.
- We agree by email what the video covers, when it is due and the fee. We pay only for videos agreed by email, so wait for that email before you start.
- Film it, then send the file or a link to info@conductscience.com.
- We can ask for up to two rounds of changes.
- When we accept it, the fee appears on your dashboard.
- We pay it in full with our next monthly payment. We need your tax details before your first payment.
What we check before we accept
- The science is right, and the test looks on screen the way it does for a participant.
- It covers what the email agreed, at the agreed length.
- It uses sample data and shows nothing private.
- You say only what is true for you. If you have not used a product, you do not say you have.
- It never says a test diagnoses or treats anything.
- You have the rights to all music and footage in it, including for paid ads.
What never goes in a video
- Real participants, children or patients.
- Private records or unpublished results.
- Your institution, its name or its logo, unless it has given permission.
- Anyone who has not agreed to appear in it.
If you post it yourself
- You do not have to post a video yourself unless our email asks you to.
- If you post it, say that ConductScience paid you, and use the platform's paid partnership label if it has one.
- Every creator also gets a link that earns a commission. If your post includes it, keep the post up for at least 6 months, unless we ask you to take it down.
Who owns your video
You do. When we accept it, you give us the right to edit it and use it in our marketing and paid ads, worldwide, on any channel, for 12 months, unless our email says otherwise. If you are in the video, that includes your name, voice and face. After that we make no new ads with it, but posts already up can stay.
