Joining
Who can join?
Anyone 18 or older can apply with their own ConductScience account. You do not need to work in research. We may turn down an application.
Can I share my link and make videos too?
Yes. Every creator also gets a link that earns a commission. If you joined to share your link and want to make videos too, email us.
Do I need followers?
No. For videos you need none, because we can run your video as an ad from our own accounts. For your link, a small audience of researchers, teachers or students is fine.
I work for a hospital, a university or a government agency. Can I join?
Yes. Follow your employer's rules on outside work and on disclosing conflicts. If you buy or help choose research software or equipment for your employer, you earn credit for your lab instead of cash.
I am in the US on a student visa. Can I be paid?
Ask your school's international student office before you accept a fee or a commission. Student visas limit paid work, and the rules depend on your visa.
Your link
What do I earn?
25% of what a new ConductCognition account pays us, not counting tax, for 12 months after it signs up through your link.
Which purchases count?
ConductCognition plans and testing packs, bought by an account that is new to ConductCognition. Lab equipment and other ConductScience products do not count. Purchases by your own account, or by anyone at your institution, do not count either.
How long does a click count?
90 days. The account must sign up within 90 days of the click, or type your code, the last part of your link, when it signs up. If someone clicked more than one person's link, the last link we recorded gets the credit. We cannot record a click on another device or with cookies turned off, but your code still works there.
Can I see who signed up?
No. Your dashboard shows clicks, sign-ups, dates and amounts. It never names a person or a lab.
Do the labs I send get anything?
New labs that sign up through a link get 25 extra free participants.
What must I say when I share my link?
Say that you earn a commission, every time, in words people will notice. For example: "I earn a commission if you sign up through this link and buy." The promotion guide has more examples.
Where do I find my QR code?
On your dashboard, under Link and QR code. It works on slides, posters and handouts.
Making videos
How much do you pay for a video?
$200 for a 30 second test demo, $300 for a 60 second explainer, and $500 for a walkthrough or a video about your own research. We agree on the fee by email before you start.
How do I get a video agreed?
Pick a video idea or bring your own, and email it to us. We reply with what the video covers, when it is due and the fee. We pay only for videos agreed that way, so wait for that email before you film.
Is there a script I can use?
Yes. Each video idea has a sample script, timed to the video. All 12 are on one page you can print.
Do I need an account to film a test?
Yes. On the test's page at conductcognition.com, choose Preview it free. It asks you to sign in, or to create a free account.
What can I show in a video?
Yourself taking the test, or sample data. Never show real participants, children, patients, private records or unpublished results. Get permission before you film at your institution or name it.
Can I use music?
Only music you have the rights to use in paid ads. If you are not sure, leave the music out.
What if you ask for changes?
We can ask for up to two rounds of changes. If we still do not accept the video, we owe no fee and do not use it, unless our email says otherwise.
Who owns the video?
You do. When we accept it, we may edit it and use it in our marketing and paid ads, on any channel, for 12 months, unless our email says otherwise.
Do I have to post it myself?
No, unless our email asks you to. If you post it, say that ConductScience paid you, and use the platform's paid partnership label if it has one.
Getting paid
When do I get paid?
Once a month. A commission is ready to pay 30 days after the lab pays, unless we hold it to check the purchase. A video fee is ready to pay the day we accept the video. Each month we pay everything that is ready.
Is there a minimum?
For commissions, yes. We pay them once the commissions ready to pay reach $100, and a smaller amount carries over to the next month. Video fees have no minimum.
Why is a commission on hold?
We review purchases that may come from your institution, and purchases by government customers. We decide within 60 days of the customer's payment. We cancel the commission if the purchase came from your institution or the customer's rules do not allow one.
What happens when a lab gets a refund?
We take back the commission on the refunded amount, including from later earnings.
What is lab credit?
If you buy or help choose research software or equipment for your employer, you earn credit instead of cash. We apply it to your lab's next order or plan, on the same monthly schedule.
Stripe and taxes
How do you pay?
Through Stripe, in US dollars. Before your first payment you give Stripe your identity, bank and tax details on Stripe's own pages, and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement there. Start from Payments on your dashboard.
I live outside the US. Can you pay me?
Yes, by another way. Our Stripe payments cover people in the US for now. If you live elsewhere, we agree another way to pay you by email, and we ask for your tax form before we pay you that way.
Who handles taxes?
You do. You are responsible for your own taxes, and we report payments as the law requires. In the US, you give Stripe your tax details when you set up payments.
Signing in
Which account do I sign in with?
The ConductScience account you applied with. It is the same account you use for the ConductScience store and ConductCognition.
Why does the sign-in page always ask?
It asks which account to use every time, even when you are already signed in to the store or ConductCognition.
What if I forget my password?
Choose "Forgot password?" on the sign-in page. We email you a link to set a new one.
Why won't sign-in work inside Instagram?
Instagram and other apps open links in their own browser, where Google sign-in does not work. Open the page in Safari or Chrome from the app's menu, then sign in.
What does Sign out do?
It signs you out of this site and ends your ConductScience sign-in in that browser, so the next sign-in asks for your account again.
I applied. Why can't I see my link yet?
Your link and earnings open on your dashboard once we accept you. If you applied to make videos, we first email you to set up a short video call.
Your agreement
How do I leave the program?
Email us. Either of us can end the agreement at any time. You stop earning when it ends, even on accounts that already signed up through your link. We still pay what you earned once it is ready to pay, even under $100, unless you broke the terms.
Can the terms change?
Yes. A change gets a new version on the terms page, and we email you before it takes effect. If you do not accept it, you can leave the program.
Do you share my posts?
While the agreement runs, we may share your public posts about the program on our own site and channels, with your name.
No answer matches that.
